1) What does “making your move” mean to you at this stage of your career?
At this stage of my career, making my move means stepping into full strategic leadership within the print and packaging industry.
It is no longer about just closing business. It is about shaping conversations around supply chain stability, manufacturing excellence, pricing strategy, and long-term partnership development.
Making my move means expanding my influence beyond transactions and becoming a recognized thought leader who drives growth across the United States through innovation, capacity alignment, and operational insight.
2) Can you share a moment when you took action that moved your career forward?
A defining moment was when I shifted from product selling to solution consulting. Instead of leading with envelope specifications, I began leading with questions about workflow efficiency, cost containment, production timing, and risk mitigation.
I positioned myself as an extension of my customers’ procurement and operations teams.
That move elevated the conversations I was invited into. I was no longer just quoting. I was collaborating at a higher level.
3) What helped you recognize the right time to make that move?
Market pressure!!!!
Paper volatility, manufacturing shifts, consolidation across print, and increased cost scrutiny forced a strategic pivot. I recognized that reacting to change was not enough. I needed to anticipate it and help my clients do the same.
When the industry tightens, leaders emerge. That was the moment to lean in rather than step back.
4) What advice would you give women in print who are considering their next move?
Understand the business beyond your role.
Learn manufacturing processes. Study pricing structures. Know how paper markets move. Understand margins
When you speak the full language of the industry, you gain credibility instantly.
Build cross-functional relationships. Seek mentorship. Raise your hand for leadership opportunities even when they feel slightly uncomfortable, and most importantly, own your value.
This industry needs more women who think strategically, communicate confidently, and are willing to make decisive moves.
The opportunity is here. Step into it.
