What does “making your move” mean to you at this stage of your career?

Making my move means building a name for myself. I am laying the foundation for work that people will remember. I deliver high-quality graphic design and print production, along with professional, reliable interactions with both coworkers and clients. I want our clients to confidently say, “Team Concept Printing can handle that.”

At this stage in my career, it is essential that my work is seen, recognized, and shared. I know what I am capable of. I simply need more visibility and more opportunities for others to experience the level of craft, precision, and creativity I bring to every project.

2) Can you share a moment when you took action that moved your career forward?

I had learned everything I could at my first job after college. It is intimidating to consider leaving a place where you feel comfortable, but growth is impossible without taking that step. If you never leave, you cannot branch out or spread your wings in your career. I chose to take action when I moved into my next position at a new workplace. You cannot move forward if you remain stagnant.

3) What helped you recognize the right time to make that move?

I recognized it was time to make my move after realizing I had become too comfortable. I was no longer being challenged, and the opportunities for growth in my career had slowed. I was not advancing anymore, and that can be a difficult truth to admit. I needed the chance to step forward and show the world what I am capable of.

4) What advice would you give women in print who are considering their next move?

Girl, just do it. What are you waiting for? Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter once said “You must accept that you might fail; then, if you do your best and still don’t win, at least you can be satisfied that you’ve tried. If you don’t accept failure as a possibility, you don’t set high goals, you don’t branch out, you don’t try – you don’t take the risk.” That quote has resonated with me; I hope it does for you as well.

5) What has your experience with Girls Who Print meant to you so far?

It has been a fantastic learning experience seeing how other women navigate the trade. I look forward to PrintHERstory Month every year since I first started submitting my story. However, I would love to see some type of additional gathering or event similar to PrintHERstory at another point in the year. It would be great to have another checkpoint to look forward to beyond March and throughout the rest of the year.
